Personalized Suggested Messages -- Just for you!
Your teaching style is unique—and Elina adapts to it from day one, thanks to Custom Categories. During onboarding, a short questionnaire helps Elina build a set of chat shortcuts (“categories”) that align with your workflow. In this article, you’ll discover how custom categories work, how to tweak them over time, and how to create new categories for specialized tasks.
1. What Are Personalized Categories?
Think of categories as labeled folders in your chat interface. Instead of scrolling through dozens of prompts, you click a category—like “Printables” or “Assessment”—and see the suggested messages. In addition to standard categories, Elina will also create personalized categories based on your needs.
2. How Your Onboarding Shapes Categories
When you first log into Elina, you’ll answer a few quick questions about:
- Your role (e.g., classroom teacher, school administrator, homeschooling parent)
- Your learning setting (public school, private school, charter school, homeschool pod)
- Your educational philosophy (child‑centered, project‑based, Montessori, thematic units)
- The support you need (lesson planning, differentiated activities, assessments, parent communications)
Elina uses your responses to generate 4 default categories in your chat sidebar. For example:
- “Group Plans” for medium‑term planning
- “Quick Activities” for 5–10 minute exercises
- “Printables” for PDF‑ready resources
3. Accessing and Using Your Personalized Suggested Messages
- Open the Chat by clicking Elina's avatar in the top-left corner.
- In the chat panel, you'll see suggested messages and then a section entitled "Personalized for you"
- Click the one you need.
- Suggested messages in that category appear instantly.
- Click a message to send it to Elina.
